Product Description
This fun lesson is a great way to have not only a language arts lesson, but also a way to remember what a metaphor is, how to use them, and what some common metaphors are. This metaphor lesson is meant to be used alongside the kid’s storybook You’re Toast and Other Metaphors We Adore by Nancy Loewen.

How to use this fun metaphor lesson …

First, follow the easy to make instructions in the printable pack further on in this post to make your own metaphor books. Then, have some fun reading You’re Toast and Other Metaphors We Adore by Nancy Loewen. Once you have read the storybook at least once, discuss the metaphors with your children and determine which handful are their favorites. Have them complete their ‘My Book of Metaphors’ using their favorites. Then, when they are done they will have a nice little book of their own that will help them remember what a metaphor is and how fun they can be too.
