My Book of Sight Words is a collection of simple and fun worksheets to introduce early literacy skills for Kindergarten and Grade 1 students. Sight words are important for a child to master reading and language skills. This work packet is designed to help children build confidence in reading and writing skills. Having a good knowledge of sight words helps in laying a strong foundation for lifelong reading success.

At times, it is difficult for a child to follow the basic principles of phonics while using sight words. This makes it harder for a child to understand and spell them properly. Early readers need a proper strategy for decoding unknown words. Using sight words in writing simple sentences is an easy and fun way to familiarize and master them.

This sight words work packet enables reading and writing success. Each worksheet in the work packet includes activities in Reading, Writing, and Drawing:

  • Unscramble Fun: The child learns the meaning of sight word and tries to unscramble the words to make a meaningful sentence.
  • Writing Fun: The child learns to write the sentence in the correct order. The child is further encouraged to make a new sentence with the given sight word.
  • Drawing and Coloring Fun: The child draws a picture and colors it.

Invite young enthusiastic learners to use sight word prompts and ignite reading, writing, and drawing activities.

This book teaches 8 basic sight words for early readers and writers.

The sight words help young children to read and write sentences with confidence.
