Are you students having a difficult time recognizing the long and short vowel sounds? Use this create your own book to help provide examples for your students to remember. I use this after teaching each vowel sound to my students to help them recognize the difference between the long and short vowels. This activity is great for small group instruction or independent work. There is a half page dedicated to each of the vowels with a picture example. Students can draw and label a picture to match the given vowel. My students keep these in their all done folders and are always excited to go back to add their new ideas!
