Teach primary students how to start thinking about a future career one day. Career education does not start in high school, it starts when our students are young! Use this lesson to emphasize the importance of identifying interests and applying them to a future career. This lesson uses the story How Santa Got His Job by Stephen Krensky. It is a great short, picture book that children enjoy hearing about how Santa tried many jobs before he found his "just right" job.
**This download does not include the story or the book. You may purchase the book on several book selling sites or find a read aloud on Youtube.
Each slide on the Power Point emphasizes how people's interests help one find a perfect career! First read the story How Santa Got His Job to the class, discuss how each job Santa had influenced what he does today and use the interactive slides to demonstrate. Then guess what his elves look like when they take Career s-ELF-ies! Watch the elves pictures magically change and their career hats/props appear on the photo. Finally, have your students Elf themself and create their own Career s-ELF-ies to display.
Try out the interactive power point by downloading the preview.
