One way to test reading comprehension is to work on facts and opinions based on stories. For this lesson I used the storybook Sam and the Lucky Money by Karen Chinn.
So, with this in mind, why not work on your child or student’s fact and opinion determinations using the adventures of Sam? To help make the story more relatable and to help you practice your child or student’s reading comprehension skills determining facts or opinions I created this hands-on set of Chinese New Year Fact or Opinion Coins and Pouch to be used alongside the storybook Sam and the Lucky Money. By including this hands-on exercise to your studies I hope that it helps increase for storybook learning fun.
• My Chinese New Year Fact or Opinion Coin Pouch Printable

Alternatively you can make the pouch out of construction paper. One pouch is needed per instructor not per student.
