Product Description
“My Coping Tools: Stress Management Strategies for Older Children and Teens” is designed to provide teachers a comprehensive approach for responding to older elementary and secondary students who demonstrate difficulty regulating their behavior in the classroom. It can be used by special education teachers as part of a plan to implement behavior goals, particularly those that target stress management or frustration tolerance skills; however, it also provides the general education teacher a research based strategy for responding to and better supporting students with special needs included in the mainstream setting or any others who might require some degree of intervention to demonstrate appropriate behavior at school.

The resource contains two different visual supports which outline eight specific stress management strategies as well as a step by step description of a technique that can be used to introduce and teach them to students to help them become better able to independently manage their own behavior across all school settings.

“My Coping Tools: Stress Management Strategies for Older Children and Teens” was recently revised to further break down each of the eight presented coping strategies into their discrete steps to allow the teacher to more easily teach them in the individual or small group setting.
