This is a 2-4 week summative assessment and writing process created for middle school ELA students, however all materials can be easily adapted to fit your grade level or even to suit another content area! These materials were created to give students guidance and practice writing clearly; the text complexity and depth of research you ask students to complete is up to you. This would be a great project to try in Science or Social Studies.
Included in this 20 page document:
*Common Core State Standards addressed
*Teacher-Developed Research Questions to guide reading and focus research
*Materials, instructions, and guide for Student-Created Research Question
