Activities correlate to the VA SOL's and Common Core and include a science experiment as well as reading/language art activities. Activities include:

1. Retelling of story-print out picture cards on pg 6 and print out or enlarge pg. 7-10 to engage students in re-telling the story.
Using our senses: Reproduce pg. 5 and have students draw what Goldilocks saw, heard, touched, tasted, and smelled in the story.
Story Map: Have students cut out and glue the elements of the story in the correct sequence.
Make a senses booklet- pg. 13-16. Depending on ability of students one version is done with the pictures included. Print out and assemble according to instrucitons. More advanced students can cut out and glue the pictures into the book.
Label Goldilocks’ Senses: Several copies can be made for a center or students can be assessed on knowledge of five senses. Cards are included for students to place in appropriate square.
Retelling story strips: Before or after completing the handout on pg. 5 use the sentence strips to review what Goldilocks saw, heard, etc.
My Beary Sense Sentences- Reproduce on cardstock /laminate several copies of pg. 25 and have students draw out of bag what they will write about. Students recopy the first sentence and then add their response. Color bear for bulletin board glue onto construction paper.
Gummy Bear experiment-instructions included on pg. 27&28.
