This is an easy way to talk about the gingerbread books you are reading, without having to worry about what versions you happen to have available. Run the girl and boy covers off for your students on construction paper. Run the book pages on regular paper. Every time you read a story have your students fill in the details. You can choose what kind of picture you want them to draw in the center space. You could have them draw their favorite part, a picture of what the gingerbread man looks like in this story or even how it ends. When finished, staple all the pages together into a book. The students can cut out the cookie jar shapes first if desired. Don’t let this one get away!
