Are you looking for activities to do with your students during the holidays? This activity ties in writing, Christmas, and character education.
Most students are familiar with or have experienced writing letters to Santa. This lesson challenges students to not just write a standard letter to Santa with all the things they personally want. Instead, they are challenged to write a letter to Santa asking for gifts for the world.
I have personally taught this lesson to my class and we have had some incredible experiences as we’ve learned to think outside ourselves for the holidays, and realize that there are more important things than the gaming system, camera, or computer we are hoping to receive.
This resource includes:
*a mini lesson
*example letters that my own students have written
*printable holiday themed papers for writing the letters on
*differentiated ideas for different grade levels
