This hands on, 22 page, interactive booklet is designed to be used as a means of facilitating the IB PYP Attitudes within the upper elementary. I designed it with my 4th grade in mind but it can be used with 3rd, 5th and 6th. It can be done within a week of focus lessons or longer, depending on how you prefer to implement the review aspect.
It helps the children to gain a stronger understanding of what each attitude is and how it pertains to their life experiences and so can be used alongside your teaching of the Attitudes. The activities naturally use the transdisciplinary skills and these should be pointed out to the children, and/or have them identify the skills, as they work through the booklet.
I have used this as a beginning of the year activity as we progressed through learning about the attitudes, as an assessment/review activity of our knowledge of the attitudes and also as we explored the traits of KNOWLEDGEABLE and REFLECTIVE within the Learner Profile.
Kids love the journal aspect of the booklet and the variety of activities it requires of them. It can be implemented as an independent activity, small group work or guided groups.
Simply copy the cover sheet, which has a front and back cover and then copy the other sheets back to back, fold in half along the central line and insert in between the cover sheet.
