PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a science and art integrated lesson plan.

Science: Students will learn how to classify leaves in to different groups, simple compound, pinnate, palmate, shape, and edge.

Science Standard: Students will understand that organisms depend on living and nonliving things within their environment.

b.Identify characteristics of living things (i.e., growth, movement, reproduction).

c.Classify living and nonliving things in an environment.


Art: Students will use the leaves to create an animal. They will use as many different kinds of leaves as they can. After they make their animal they will make a rubbing of it. They will label each leaf on the paper.

Art Standard:

Recognize the connection of visual arts to all learning.

a.Use a visual arts form as a help in expressing an idea in a nonart subject; e.g., a science project, the writing of a poem, a social studies project
