Your students will review 31 key terms. Each slide has a term with four possible definitions, the kids need to choose the correct definition. Great to use as a preview before reading the story.

Words Included:

Reluctant – unwilling or hesitant
Adventure –an exciting activity or experience
Weary – extremely tired
Disapproval – to dislike or have an unfavorable opinion
Envious - jealous
Obsessed – to completely fill your thoughts
Investigate – to research or study a subject; to examine facts
Animation – a way of making a movie using drawings or computer graphics to make it seem as if they are moving
Interrogate – to ask a series of questions in a formal or aggressive setting
Fidget – unable to sit still
Accomplish – complete with effort
Judgment – a well thought out and reasoned decision
Impulse – a strong desire or need to act
Discipline – a way to teach rules or conduct using consequences to correct mistakes
Enthusiasm – intense interest or enjoyment
Visualize – to form an image in your mind
Predict – to say what will happen in the future based on observations of the present
Eager – wanting to do something very much
Truce – a compromise between two enemies
Negotiate – to discuss a way to end a difficult situation
Inspired – to create something with outside influence
Fateful – having consequences into the future; usually bad
Anxious – worried, nervous
Anticipation – excitedly looking forward to something
Outrage – strong emotion of anger or shock
Betrayed – to be unfaithful or to violate trust
Sacrifice – to surrender a person, animal, object to a supernatural figure
Ominous – an event that seems to foretell bad luck
Frustrated – feeling of annoyance because a situation can’t be changed
Digested – to understand new information
