My Many Colored Days writing and craft activity! A great activity to do when studying Dr Seuss or when learning about similes or making connections. Two spelling options are included (favorite/favourite and color/colour).
Students select a color, make a tissue paper sun-catcher and complete a writing task with a clear framework. Some of the great ideas my students came up with when following the framework were:
On orange days I feel active like a cheetah running as fast as a car.
On yellow days I feel happy like a bee who just found a flower.
On blue days I feel tired like I need to lie on the ground and watch the clouds make shapes in the sky.
The following are included:
- ideas of feelings for each color.
- craft instructions and stencil.
- display pages for student writing to be displayed under each child’s craft.
- student worksheet for more advanced students where they list how they feel on each day.
Covers red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, grey, black, white days. Great for Read Across America. Enjoy! :)
Note: this product is made by me, not Doctor Seuss!
