Let's take "un viaje maravilloso"! This is a powerpoint that instructs students on the different steps needed for this project-based learning experience. Students will research a Spanish-speaking country that they will visit. They'll find a flight, hotels, activities and events, as well as restaurants. This activity can be altered to suit other languages, as well. The project includes a presentation of the students' choice as well as a letter written entirely in the target language.
I usually assign this to my Spanish I students via Google Classroom and include a list of all the countries, numbered, and randomly assign a number to my students in their private comments. I try to make sure that no more than two students have the same country. And, I require that the letter is hand-written during class rather than typed (otherwise the temptation to use an online translator is too great!).
Please let me know how this works for you and your students! If you have any suggestions for improvement, don't hesitate to contact me! Gracias :)
