My Math Dictionary Elementary Bundle (Grades 3 - 5)
This resource includes materials needed for students to create their own math dictionary
. Math dictionary cover pages are included in both color and blackline.
Students use Frayer model templates
to create their own personal math dictionary.
The provided teacher vocabulary checklist
and vocabulary rubric
can be used to monitor student understanding of math vocabulary. Vocabulary is aligned to the TEKS
and organized according to STAAR reporting category.
This enables teachers to plan ahead for upcoming vocabulary.

→There is not an answer key, students create their own unique graphic organizers using the Frayer model templates.
☆HOW TO USE:
→Use for PLC or Grade Level Planning
- Use Vocabulary Checklist and Rubric to monitor student progress
→Review, Intervention or Test Prep
- Set up a Vobulary Workstation area. Make copies of the needed pages and have students use their math books, math journals, notes, or vocabulary websites to complete their Frayer Models. Not every word needs to be completed. Have students highlight the words from the included list that they don’t fully understand and create a graphic organizer for those terms.
- Have students add to their math dictionaries throughout the year. By the end of the year students will have a complete and unique Math Dictionary!
