This is one of my favorite measurement review activities! I strongly recommend this AFTER length, liquid volume, and weight/mass have been introduced.
Divide students into group and give them various CLEAR containers (I suggest labeling each container and having an answer key). Fill each container with a varying predetermined amount of water between 1-3 cups. In groups, students should discuss what they estimate the container's length is, its weigh, and its liquid volume. Next, work with them to actually measure the dimensions and then discuss if they were close or not.
This activity really helps to see what your students know and any misconceptions they still hold! It may be a great Fun Friday activity to do depending on time!
