Mother’s Day is coming up, and what better gift for all of those AWESOME moms than a storybook about them?
Students complete this book by filling in blanks and finishing sentence frames to tell about their moms and adding illustrations to showcase what makes their moms special. What mom would not love to receive one of these handmade books?
There are many options for binding them—laminate the cover and add a back cover and use a book binder, staple them all together, mount the pages on construction paper… the possibilities are endless!
When my first graders made these books for their moms, we mounted each page on construction paper, laminated the front and back covers and used our school’s book binder to hold them together. I’m not sure which my students enjoyed more—making them for their own moms or reading each other’s (and mine!) when they were finished.
