This product was designed to help students organize and solve multiplication problems (2 digit times 1 digit, 3 digit times 1 digit, 2 digit times 2 digit, and 3 digit times 2 digit). It uses boxes and color coding, along with written steps to help students think through and visualize the multiplication process. The end goal would be for students to multiply without the organizer eventually.

I put it inside a clear dry erase packet for students to practice, but students could also do example problems on paper using this organizer. This product might be used to teach multiplication or to review before reteaching.

Fluently multiply multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm.
Multiply a whole number of up to four digits by a one-digit whole number, and multiply two two-digit numbers, using strategies based on place value and the properties of operations. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.
Multiply one-digit whole numbers by multiples of 10 in the range 10–90 (e.g., 9 × 80, 5 × 60) using strategies based on place value and properties of operations.
