This is a terrific way for first and second graders to practice counting coins! No prep needed-just an alphabet chart that has numbers underneath the letters (ex. Aa, Bb)
Students will use the alphabet chart to count how much his or her name is worth. Coin stickers may be used to represent coins or students can draw each coin to represent the amount for each letter. Students will add up the total amount to represent how much his or her name is worth as the final step. This is so fun!
In my classroom, we made a money graph to show how much our class was worth!
It really is exciting to count money!
