This has been a great place for my students to keep a record of vocabulary words from multiple lessons. You could use it for specific content words (science, social studies, etc.) or more common vocabulary words found in their literature books.
The back cover includes spaces for them to write some of their favorite words that they want to try to use in their writing. Once they use the word in a written response or story correctly and show me I tell them to color in the space with that word. This challenges them to apply the words in class in any context.
I included the front/back cover sheet & two possible options for how the inside can look. Make multiple copies of the inside sheet you choose (A-Z), copy them back to back, and fold with the cover sheet. You may want to copy the cover sheet on colorful paper so it stands out. I hole punched the side and let students use yarn or brads to fasten it together.
