My Pet Pumpkin Writing Journal Project - Digital and Printable

This way you have lots of options for this wonderful project!**

In this adorable project, students adopt a mini pumpkin (which you will need to purchase OR you could use different pictures of pumpkins like a Flat Stanley) as their pet and get a one week trial as their owner. Each night, they have to go home and write a journal, responding to seven different prompts in total. Then after those 7 days, the students return the pumpkin and the journal to their teacher. If the teacher is convinced to let the student keep it, the pumpkin is theirs to keep! This is a fun and engaging way to get students excited about writing. Each entry requires at least a paragraph so I am going to call this age appropriate for 3rd, but please be aware that students will need to be able to write a paragraph for this to be successful. This is meant to be an at-home project but could easily be adapted to be used in the classroom.
