This chart is designed to be used with standards based grading to help students track their progress thus taking ownership over their learning and visualizing success.
The first column includes the entire core in student friendly language. All 5 strands are included - reading literature, reading informational texts, writing, speaking and listening, and language.
The second column is for the teacher, or the teacher and students together, to write in assignments that focus on that standard. The document is editable, so you can either put in the assignments for your students, or right before you do an assignment, have them pull our their progress charts, go over the standard they are focusing on, and write in the assignment.
The third column is for students to record the grade they received on the assignment. This helps them track their progress and it gives value to your assignments.
The last column is for you to mark mastery with your students. You can do this through conferencing or after tests. It is a great way for students to see success.
These charts are great for gifted students or for lower achieving students.
