This mini-book is a fun way to have students create a sensory poem about their pumpkin carving experiences. I recommend to use a graphic organizer to record their sensory details in four categories (looks like, smells like, sounds like and feels like to the touch) for brainstorming. Then students can pick their best details to insert into the poem.
Have students draw detailed pictures of each stage of the carving experiment and encourage them to label pumpkin parts.
Print double-sided, then fold in the middle and staple.
Can be completed individually, with a partner or in a guided group (ELs).
