Pages 3-5: Amazing Word Cards
Pages 6-10: Spelling Word and Challenge Word Cards
Pages 11-13: Word Wise (I print the word cards out and laminate them). Students pick ten word cards to write. They circle the letters that make the words plural. They must also write sentences using 6 of the words.
Pages 14-16: Word Work (I print the word cards out and laminate them). Students pick eight words to write and say aloud. They write the plural words that they pick in one column and the singular form in the column next to it.
Pages 17-18: Let’s Write! (I hang up the sensory details poster on our class focus wall. This helps remind students what sensory details are). Students write a short paragraph about their favorite food. They need to use sensory details.
Pages 19-20: Words To Know (I print out the homonym cards and laminate them. Students pick 3 cards to write sentences for. They must use a dictionary to find the different meanings, then write two sentences for each word card they picked showing the two meanings.
Page 21: Read For Meaning (Students will read one of the Leveled Readers and write two sentences comparing the story to another story they’ve read and two sentences contrasting them).
Page 22: I included a portion of My Rows and Piles of Coins for students to read for fluency.
