I taught elementary science for many years and started making up songs to help my students learn and remember the concepts. At the end of the year, I always asked my students to give me suggestions to make my class better. Every year my students said "More songs." I ended up with 28 songs, and the students were still asking for more. Many students told me they still used my songs in middle school to help them study for tests. My students scored very well on the high-stakes tests, and I give a lot of the credit to the songs. As the students were taking their tests, I could see them singing the songs in their heads. They loved them because they helped them learn. I wanted to share my songs with others who might be able to use them. They cover most of the topics students learn in science in elementary school. Here is an example of one of the songs I used at the beginning of the year to teach Scientific Tools. It's to the tune of Old MacDonald.
