Learning shapes gives young students practice in preparation for future learning:
1-Reading - learning the different shapes is a step to learning those used in reading and writing.
2-Math - learning shapes is the geometry standard for math. As they recognize different shapes they will be able to recognize them in numbers.
3-Categorize and Compare - Comparing and organizing shapes prepares for key skills needed for science learning.
4. Problem Solving: - Shape activities are preparation for problem-solving in life. Shapes sorters, puzzles, cut and paste activities, “Find the Shape”, etc.
