Students create a snowman using a glyph. Then their snowmen go missing and they must create a MISSING flyer which describes their snowman. The rest of the class becomes snowmen detectives by reading through the missing posters and attempt to match the missing snowmen with the correct owner.
Afterwards, use the snowmen to create a bar graph and write sentences about the snowmen using apostrophes to form frequently occurring possessives. Then review compound words by listing as many compound words using snow that they can think of.

I designed this product to be used in a second grade classroom, but can be adapted for first or third grades.
