My Solar System
by Tiny Space Adventures
The perfect introduction to the solar system!
Easy, Fun and Factual!
PreK-K students will learn about their solar system while practicing their counting and writing skills and developing their knowledge of colors and the shape, ‘circle’.
Included in this lesson:
Extensive background information on each planet. Including what it is like on the planet, as well as relevant past, current and future missions by NASA and other space agencies.
My Solar System Coloring Page
A fun and happy solar system to introduce students to the set of lessons. Includes the Sun, all 8 planets, the asteroid belt, kupier best and a comet flying by in the background. A black and white copy is available for students to color, and a color version is available to use as a classroom poster.
Planet Counting: How Far From the Sun?
Students can count along as they learn the order of the planets from the Sun. Trace the numbers and then write freehand.
My Solar System (Planet Sequencing)
Reinforce sequence and number recognition. Students cut the planets (each is labeled with a number), and glue them on a matching number on a number line behind the Sun.
My Solar System Book (big)
Trace the name of each planet and re-write it on the lines provided. Or if students are higher level, ask them to write a sentence about each planet. Then trace the circle (which represent the planet) and draw a picture of what it looks like. Students are given color suggestions for each planet.
My Mini Solar System Book
Create a little book for little hands. Each page is dedicated to a natural object in our solar system (Sun, 8 planets, and the Earth's Moon). It has the name, 1 fact, and a picture student can color. Cut out along the dotted lines and staple together for the perfect mini solar system reference manual.
