This is intended for the first days of school allowing students to share there summer, then determining percentages on certain aspects of that summer. this offers a great hook into estimating percentages and also thinking about units of measure when making sense of those percentages. The first page allow a lot of discourse for estimating percent into hour by first converting major check points like 25,50,75 and 100 percent. The second page allows student to think more deeply on how to properly answer the question then to look deep into what does the percentage actually mean. Even some questions like "how happy are you to be in school?" could be measure by smiles and vise versa for frowns. A Great school year can be determined by how many A's you received in that year.
