My super weekly reflection is a great way to get students to think about what they are learning during school. I use this with my first graders and it is a great way to help see what we are doing in class and reflect on how they are doing.
This works out great for students to start taking ownership of their learning!
On Friday of each week my class takes about 20 minutes at the end of the day to talk about what we worked on over the week. Then the students fill out the form (with practice). As the students are filling out their reflections I go around and add notes to the paper and talk to the students about what they thought they needed to work on. To add notes to the whole classes papers I fill in the "note from the teacher" section ahead of time and then pass them out to the students.
If there is a reminder I will write that on the board for the students to copy down.
I use this instead of a weekly newsletter this way the parents are getting the news directly from the students!! This works out great for students to start taking
