My Teacher Needs a Vacation! An Opinion Writing Craftivity

I love doing engaging writing activities with my students, and I am super excited to see where they think I should go on vacation! In this opinion writing craftivity, students get to mix research in with stating their opinion through writing. They choose a place their teacher should go, and there is a note taking page included for them to take notes as they research the destination. The most fun thing about this writing is the awesome craft it becomes at the end! When students have finished their writing, they color an earth and can either add a picture of YOU (their teacher) in the center, or one of the traveling teachers included if you do not choose to use real photos of yourself.

Included in the activity is:

-Directions/Suggestions for use
-A letter from their teacher to introduce the writing
-Guided notes template to help with research
-Bubble map for brainstorming ideas their destination is perfect
-Two rough draft writing papers (one intended for lower grades and one for upper)
-6 publishing pages, half with room to draw a picture and half with just room for writing
-Four options of travelers to be colored if not using photos (two male and two female)
