Help students learn what thoughts they can "say" out loud and and which thoughts should not be said out loud! Provide Social situations. Ask students what they think about the social situation. Write their thoughts on a "sticky note." Have them decide which thoughts can be said and which thoughts should be filtered! Have the child put their "Sticky Notes" with their thoughts on the "Things I think" bubble. Once all the thoughts about the social situation are put on "stickies," have the child move the sticky notes onto the filter. From there, the child can "filter" their thoughts to the thumbs up bucket or the thumbs down bucket! Have them explain why they choice their bucket!
