This Social Studies project gives students the opportunity to show what they know about different types of communities - rural, urban, and suburban. Differentiation strategies include student choice, leveled rubric, and student self-evaluation.
This resource includes a cover page and 2 student work pages. It also includes 2 complete rubrics - one for student self-evaluation, and one for the teacher to use to assess student work. The cover page, student work pages, and the rubric page can be photocopied and stapled onto a manilla folder.
Also included in this resource are pictures of a completed project, and information on communities. While this resource can be used with information about types of communities from your own Social Studies curriculum alone, the information I provide about communities can be used to augment your curriculum.
