Looking for a travel journal because you are a teacher who just had a parent inform you they are taking their child out of school for a vacation? A homeschooling family who likes to hit the road for extended field trips? A parent looking to fill the hours on a long car ride across the US of A? Well, you’ve come to the right place.
My Travel Journal, Kindergarten contains Common Core Standards aligned activities for a student to engage in as they craft a wonderful, memory-filled journal of their trip.
This travel journal contains the following activities aligned to Kindergarten CCSS and California science and social studies standards:
A Weather Chart
Looking for Landforms
State and National Symbols
Plant and Animal Record
ABCs of My Trip
and Journal Entries
In addition, there are further directions on including pictures, drawings, and other souvenirs of the trip.
If this sounds like a great idea but you do not want to assign a full, cut and paste into a scrapbook type project, check out the My Travel Journal, Copy and Go Editions. These are the same activities reformatted into a journal that can be copied, assigned, and filled out as is. There is a Copy and Go Color Edition
and a Copy and Go Black and White Edition
I developed My Travel Journal after being faced with two long car trips one summer with three small children. Having my children work on these journals kept them busy and saved my sanity. I’ve blogged about the experience at Lessons In Homeschooling
. If you want to see my children’s travel journals in action please check it out.
I have also created Travel Journals for Grades 1 and 2 which can be found at my store
. I am in the process of creating more travel journals for other grades so follow me if you wish to receive updates when they are available.
Many Happy Adventures!
