Here’s a resource you’ll want to include in your arsenal of Writing Workshop tools. In Writing Workshop we are always teaching toward lifting the level of the students’ writing to help them become an independent, confident and skillful writer. We teach them that writers use tools, like personalized word wall, to help them remember how to spell words correctly. This personal word wall serves as a visual reminder each time students write. You will love there are a variety of options for using this with your students. For use during Writing Workshop, these can be housed in student personal writing folders. You can run it off on card stock, laminate (for use with vis a vis pens) or three hole punch and pop in a sheet protector inside their writing folder. Or you can make one copy per student, staple or glue it to the front and back of a file folder. Then display it upright, both-sided, for all members of the table to see. Viola! You have an instant portable word wall.
This product is essentially 2 pages, in a few different ways. See the preview for slight variations. One manuscript or block writing font version is in color, one in black and white, one with lines for monitoring correct letter formation. I know different schools use different “working with words” terminology, so I’ve included is a customizable blank untitled version to title as you see fit- Sight Words, Popcorn Words, Snap Words, Spelling Words etc. Also included are two variations of “My Words to learn in a Snap” writing pages to practice those troublesome words.
