This writing clip chart is smaller than my previous writing charts. It has 2 boxes on each page and has just the main goals my kindergarteners tend to need more work on.
Here are the writing goals on each box of the clip chart:
*A top header box- My Writing Goal
*I can write more than 1 page. (great for Caulkins)
*I put spaces between my words.
*I stretch the sounds in the word.
*I add more details.
*I start with a capital letter and write the rest in lowercase.
*I add punctuation at the end.
*I write nice and neat.
*I add details to my picture.
*I write my sight words correctly.
Each goal on the chart also has a picture or sentence below to provide a visual for students.
I write each child's name on a clip and when they conference with me once a week they move their clip to where they want their new goal to be.
This is a great visual for students, yourself, and also for other staff or administration to see that you are having your students set goals. I use this chart daily in my classroom and have seen great results with students in improving their writing. I can go up to any of my kids and ask what their individual writing goal is and they can tell me! In previous years my kids struggled to do this. So thankful this chart works!
