This activity contains both colored and B&W version of the document. Within the document students develop a concept of emotions or feelings and how they experience them throughout their days. Students begin to reflect on how their bodies may feel within each Zone (internally) and how they feel in the Blue Zone may be very different from how they feel when in the Red Zone. Students learn to identify and think about the "signals" or clues their bodies are sending them within each zone (i.e., clenching their fists may be a hint to them that they are entering the Red Zone). Students are able to label a feeling per their zone and draw what the inside of their body feels like. Following that students are able to identify positive coping tools or strategies that can help them in each of their zones. This activity also includes a Teacher Strategy section which provides tips or suggestions for incorporating this journal/discussion with your students following a read aloud of a Children's Book.
