Possible uses: Create your mystery box. 1) Place picture word cards inside the box. Read a “What am 1?” card and have students guess the item or pick cards to find the item. 2) Place thematic vocabulary word cards inside the mystery box. As student pulls a card, student can use the word in a complete sentence, describe the word, or practice using target speech sounds in the word. Use syntax, articulation, and vocabulary describing worksheets to aid these activities. 3) Place higher level vocabulary word cards inside the mystery box. Have students select a word and complete the higher level defining map to aid in developing vocabulary.
