Teachers: Choose 5 or more containers that students can fill with water. Provide an assortment of measurement objects such as: gallon, quart, pint, cup, teaspoon, tablespoon, liter, milliliter, etc.
Students get to choose a unit to measure the mystery container with. They will estimate first, then actually fill it. **TIP** Put food-coloring in the water so it stands out in clear containers.
Containers I've used: Paint can, school milk carton, medicine cup, water bottle, coke bottle, orange juice carton, yogurt cup, and soup can. Cover the label with masking tape and a number.
