What if I told you I created a fun, physical, engaging activity that includes many words and structures but is for young EFL learners?
Well this is it!
numbers 1-100, adjectives ("to be" positive and negative), vocabulary related to houses and schools and how to write a 'fact file'.
This activity will cover all those topics in a fun and engaging way. Students will read, write and discuss in English about the vocabulary and their actual comprehension of texts all while trying to solve riddles.
Students walk around the hallway and look for the houses and schools they see on the map. They read the information written under each one and they fill in a fact file on their map. The name of the person that lives in the house, is important, they will use this to solve the riddles that is in the middle of the map.
Hang the houses in the hallway in different places so students will walk around and look for the pictures (or even around the school).
At the same time, they try to solve the riddles written in the middle of the map, they write the first letter of the person that lives in the house. for example:
There is a fish in my house. ---> H
At the end, all those letters will be the actual name of the mystery landץ
This is a code they need to find. The answer is Shironia. That is the name of the land and this is what they need to find!
