This fun, engaging, hands-on science activity is sure to be a hit with your students! They will be using their observation and inferring skills to try to guess what each mystery liquid is.
It’s the perfect 3 day lesson activity to fill in time between units, for a short week before holidays and school breaks, or to have ready for a sub if you’re going to be out for multiple days. It's possible to combine a few things to make this work for 2 days.
The prep is minimal. Just collect 12-24 glass jars (mason jars work well!). Hunt for some interesting looking liquids either at home or at a dollar-type store. I have included a suggested liquids list, too! Once you’ve filled the jars, you can use them time after time.
Once the jars are filled and labeled with numbers, just print the directions and LAB sheets for your students and you’re ready to go!
