This ia a one day lab activity where students apply their knowledge of genetics to determine the genotype and phenotype of an imaginary mammal by flipping a penny for 12 different traits. Students produce a drawing of their immaginary mammal using the results of the activity. Drawings are very imaginative and allow students to show creativity. This is one of my students' favorite labs and they solidfy the concepts of genotype and phenotype while enjoying science.
