This Think Tank is based on a book called Mystery Math. The book has a creepy Halloween theme and uses algebra to create word problems. The students create their own creepy math algebra problem and have others take their test.
I created this Think Tank for intervention time. While I am meeting with small groups, the students that don't need extra tutoring are working on Think Tanks. They can be done in groups or alone. If they are working in groups, each part of the lesson specifically states the expectations. Every Think Tank lesson has 5 parts to it: read, write, create, extend and I'm done.
I hope you enjoy the lesson and I hope it allows your students that don't need intervention that brain enrichment that they need/desire.
