My students have enjoyed every step of the process of working on their mystery object sharing project. I sent it home as a review assignment for descriptive writing, but it can be done in class as well. Students use what they are learning about descriptive language and adjectives to provide clues regarding their mystery object. Each student reads aloud their description and students give a "thumbs up" when they know what the object is they are describing. My students are riveted to each others' writing and motivated to share. Included is a parent letter you can modify, a brainstorm page for students to organize their thoughts, and a writing page to write their description.
