Mystery Pictures – Dr Seuss Edition are designed to help students learn how to count in numerical order and understand place value.
For beginning students: I print out a mystery picture in color and the corresponding black & white chart. I cut apart the color picture and have students glue it onto the black and white chart. This is a great way to have students still learn the 100 chart, but they may have difficulty with fine motor skills and being able to use the color key.
Tasks can be for individual or small group work.
Mystery Picture 1 – The Cat’s Hat
Mystery Picture 2 – Cat in the Hat
Mystery Picture 3 – Lorax
Mystery Picture 4 – Grinch
Mystery Picture 5 – Green Eggs & Ham
Mystery Picture 6 – READ
Mystery Picture 7 – Thing 1 or 2
Mystery Picture 8 – Truffulla Trees
Each picture has its own code page and Black & White 100 chart. There is also a blank 100 chart to further challenge your students. Fill in some parts of the blank 100 chart to differentiate.
