Product Description
This unit started as a Reading Workshop unit, but I found that it was great fun for the students to write mysteries in their Writing Workshop unit as well.
This aligns with the Common Core as it requires students to write in a fiction way for long duration.
There is also an opportunity for students to perform a Mystery Book Buzz during this unit as well.
All three have rubrics and a family letter than explains the purpose of the assignment for families.
Along with suggested mini-lesson topics, rubrics, and extension activities there are also mind mapping and check list documents to support students independence for applying lessons learned into their own work and in the way they speak for their buzz.
