Show and Tell is a classic activity! How can you tie it into your language arts and social studies standards? With this quick inferencing activity! Just attach each half-sheet to a paper bag. Your students will choose clues to tell their classmates something about themselves before presenting a mystery show and tell to the class. The rest of your class will be archaeologists for the day! Students will imagine that they are archaeologists in the future who have found these items during a dig in your community. They will use evidence and background knowledge to make inferences about the life of the student presenter. This makes a great icebreaker activity to help students get to know each other at the beginning of a new school year!
