This PDF packet includes 7 different 120 charts for students to figure out what the rule for counting is!
Every page has a table on the top that states: “color in the numbers below to find out!” (Students are to locate ONLY those numbers printed there and color those numbered boxes in completely. I usually tell my students to cross out the number after they colored it in to make sure they don’t forget any.) When students are completed they should start from the lowest number and start counting each of the colored boxes in order until they read the highest number. After counting all the way through, students must reflect and think about what skip pattern they were using while counting! If they figure it out the last step is to write the answer on the empty line found in the title.
The 5 counting rules are: by 1’s, by 2’s, by 3’s, by 5’s and by 10’s (both on and off the decade)! There are two different worksheets for counting off the decade by 10’s.
Key: Page A- by 1’s, B– by 5’s, C- by 3’s, D- by 2’s, E- by by 10’s off the decade starting @ 4, F- by 10’s, G- by 10’s off the decade starting @ 8.
