Grid drawing is a time-tested technique which helps an artist ensure their drawing as a whole stays in proper proportion. This allows them to devote more focus to detail. Additionally, viewing only a portion at a time enables the artist to detach from the subject matter in a way that promotes a right-brained mode of thinking. This is easier said than done. Scrambling the image denies the left brain direct access to the image and invariably yields more impressive results. The Mystery Wheel Drawing is a variation on traditional grid drawing. Thanksgiving subject matter.
